Four individuals, including a woman, were arrested Thursday night after a violent fight took place in a rural town where a firearm was also shot, said the Municipal Public Safety Department.
Authorities said at 8:53 p.m. police officers arrested Jesús “Doe,” 36; Hilario “Doe,” 44; Cristian “Doe,” 22 and Jhovana “Doe,” 24, at Ejido San Luis rural town.
An unknown witness reported a fight over State Highway 123.
After arrival, police officers found the suspects in an argument and punching each other.
One of the suspects fled on a blue 1995 Chevrolet Corsica with California plates.
Police officers found and stopped the suspect.
After inspecting the vehicle police agents found a .410-caliber shotgun loaded with four cartridges.
The suspects were transported to the police headquarters.
Homicide suspect arrested
State police officers apprehended a man who allegedly killed another male in February, said the Attorney General’s office.
Authorities said Miguel Ángel “Doe,” 30, was arrested by Ministerial and Preventive police agents at Ejido Plan de Ayala rural town in Mexicali Valley.
The suspect absconded in that town since the homicide, authorities reported.
Police agents found the suspect at 5 de Mayo Street.
Police officers confirmed the suspect’s identity through the emergency center.
Authorities said the suspect was in a residence on Feb. 25 with two other males identified only as Daryl and Maicol.
Moments later, a man identified as Julio César arrived and an argument began due to the suspects dating with the victim’s girlfriend.
Both the suspect and the victim began fighting and Miguel Angel took a baseball bat and hit Julio César.
Daryl, who had a machete with him, also injured Julio César, who succumbed to the injuries, authorities said.
Suspects arrested in downtown robbery
Two men were arrested Thursday evening in downtown Mexicali after a women reported a robbery, said the Municipal Public Safety Department.
Authorities said at 5 p.m. police officers found a 28-year- old woman at Lerdo and Altamirano Streets who reported to crime.
The victim told police agents that the suspects robbed her cell phone.
Police officers found and inspected the suspects who were in possession of the device.
The suspects were transported to the police headquarters.
