Mexicali police agents arrested west of the city a Tijuana man who has an arrest warrant for homicide, said the Municipal Public Safety Department.
Authorities identified the suspect as Jorge “Doe,” 33.
The suspect was arrested at 9:20 a.m. Thursday in the intersection of Tijuana Highway and Santa Isabel Highway.
The police said the arrest warrant is still active and was originally released in 2010.
No more details were provided.
Robberies reported at pharmacies
Two robberies were reported Thursday evening in a pair of pharmacies that led to the arrest of a couple of suspects, said the Municipal Public Safety Department.
The first incident was reported at Farmacon, located by Ninth Street and San Pedro Mezquital Avenue at the unincorporated area of González Ortega in eastern Mexicali.
A report was made at the emergency dispatching center about the robbery.
Police officers were told by employees two men arrived at the pharmacy and brandished firearms.
The suspects fled the scene.
Police officers found the arrested Oscar Javier “Doe,” 27, who was located underneath a tree along with a .22 caliber gun loaded with a cartridge, as well as a protective vest and 450 pesos or $26.
The other robbery was reported at Botica Guadalupana located at Oaxaca Avenue and Luis Donaldo Colosio Street at Colonia Colosio neighborhood.
A female employee told police officers a suspect arrived at the scene and brandished a firearm to demand money from the cash register.
The suspect left the pharmacy with the money and other items, authorities said.
Police agents found the suspect, who was identified as Juan Angel “Doe,” 37, along with 150 pesos or $8, a jar of body lotion and an imitation gun.
The suspects were transported to police stations.
