A man who allegedly committed sexual abuse against two minors in a rural Mexicali area was indicted, said the Attorney General’s office.
Authorities said Carmelo “Doe” was indicted by a judge who gave detectives three months to close the investigation and ruled the suspect must remain in jail during trial.
The suspect was accused of rape against a 9-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy.
The victims’ mothers filed lawsuits before the Attorney General’s office.
The suspect is a teacher at Ejido Hidalgo Elementary School who also allegedly disciplined the students by confining them in the restroom where the sexual abuse cases occurred.
