    Man arrested for robbery

    A man was arrested Monday after allegedly committing a robbery against the owner of a gas station in San Felipe, said the Municipal Public Safety Department.

    Authorities said at 1:30 p.m. a report was made regarding the robbery at the Bancomer bank branch located at Mar de Cortez Street.

    The victim, a 42-year-old woman, said she parked her gray Dodge Dakota and left the vehicle with a bag containing between 250,000 and 300,000 pesos or $11,764.70-$17,647.05, which were the proceeds for weekend’s sales, the police said.

    While walking towards the branch a man approached her and brandished a gun to demand money.

    The suspect fled on foot but was found and arrested by police officers.

    The suspect was identified as Aristeo “Doe,” a Badiraguato, Sinaloa, Mexico, resident.

    Authorities seized a 4.5 milimeter caliber bb gun that was in the suspect’s possession.

     

    Man shot to death

    A young man who worked as a mechanic was shot to dead Monday night by the passenger of a vehicle, said the Municipal Public Safety Department.

    Authorities said at 10:10 p.m. the man was found laying on the street at Lázaro Cárdenas Boulevard and Rosa del Desierto Avenue at Fraccionamiento Valle del Pedregal neighborhood.

    The victim was identified as Juan Pablo Ochoa Cibrián, 26, who had several shot wounds on his back and head.

    According to a 20-year-old man who was riding along with the deceased man on a gray 1996 Toyota Corolla, the suspect was driving a Ford Explorer.

    After attempting to crash the victim’s vehicle both stopped and someone broke the car’s left window with a baseball bat.

    After the victim left the vehicle the suspect or suspects shot him several times and left scene.

    No more details were provided.

     

    Man arrested for robbery

    A man who allegedly robbed several times at local stores was arrested by state Ministerial police officers, said the Attorney General’s office.

    Authorities said Alvaro “Doe” was arrested Monday and booked in Mexicali Jail.

    The Attorney General’s office said the suspect was allegedly involved in the Oct. 7 robbery of Extra convenience store located at Galeana and Gema streets at Fracionamiento Valle del Pedregal neighborhood.

    The suspect and an accomplice arrived on scene and brandished a firearm to threaten the cashier.

    The suspects fled on a bicycle with 5,000 pesos in merchandise and 236 pesos in cash.

    The next day the suspect allegedly robbed Frutería Welton store in the same neighborhood using the same method, but this time the suspects presumably took 20,000 pesos or $1,176.47.

    Alvaro is allegedly involved in other robberies reported in eastern Mexicali, authorities said.
