    Alleged violent assailants arrested

    Four individuals were arrested early Thursday after allegedly committing a robbery against a resident in order to steal an iPhone, said the Municipal Public Safety Department.

    Authorities said police officers arrested Oscar “Doe,” 18, Eduardo “Doe,” 16, Miguel “Doe,” 16 and Belem “Doe,” 22 at Torrecillas Avenue and Zotoluca Street at Fraccionamiento Calafia subdivision, just east of Mexicali’s Civic Center.

    The police said the first suspect also has an arrest warrant for residential robbery.

    A 70-year-old man told police officers the individuals arrived at his residence and brandished a firearm.

    The victim and his wife were tied with brown tape.

    The suspects allegedly took a purse, a wallet and an iPhone, and left on a 2014 white Honda Accord owned by the victim, authorities said.

    Police officers located the suspects at Fraccionamiento Viñas del Sol neighborhood by using the iPhone’s GPS.

    The suspects were in possession of a 9-milimeter caliber firearm.

    The suspects were transported to the police headquarters.

    Senior citizen attacked by teenagers

    A 60-year-old man was attacked early Friday by three teenagers whom police officers were able to catch, said the Municipal Public Safety Department.

    Authorities said the victim reported the incident at 1 a.m. at 506 De Las Rosas Avenue at Colonia Alamitos, next to the East Port of Entry.

    The victim told the police that the suspects arrived at his residence and hit him with a tube.

    The man had injuries on the left hand and a lip.

    Police officers found and arrested Armando “Doe,” 17, Alejandro “Doe,” 15 and Francisco Javier “Doe,” 14.

    The teenagers were transported to the police headquarters.

    Dead person found on road

    The dead body of an individual was found Thursday morning in an unpaved road located in a rural town, according to media reports.

    The corpse was found at 10 a.m. at Colonia Cerro Prieto 2 by an irrigation worker.

    The body was found face down next to Reforma Canal.

    Authorities said the body had several injuries on the face and blood stains.

    Authorities were not able to identify the dead person as the individual did not carry any identification cards.

    The individual was dressed with black denim jeans, gray sweatshirt and black shoes.
