A 52-year-old man was arrested Saturday evening after allegedly attempting to kill his former girlfriend, said the Municipal Public Safety Department.
Authorities said at 7:30 p.m. police officers arrested Sergio “Doe,” 52 at 801 Santa Verónica Avenue at Colonia Ampliación Santo Niño neighborhood in western Mexicali.
The police said a 65-year-old woman told agents that while inside her residence the suspect arrived and threatened to kill her.
The man presumably tried to suffocate her and punched her all over her body.
The victim had injuries in several parts of her body.
