A man who allegedly had an active arrest warrant from 10 years ago was arrested in San Felipe, said the state Secretary of Public Safety.
Authorities said officers with the state Preventive police department (or PEP in Spanish), the National Immigration Institute and the Ministerial police department arrested Anthony “Doe,” 38.
International PEP Liaison Rodolfo Luna said an anonymous source called the 0-8-9 emergency hotline to report the suspect’s whereabouts.
Policemen found and arrested the suspect, who is originally from San Francisco and asked the emergency center to confirm the suspects’ identity and arrest warrant.
The suspect had the arrest warrant active since Jan. 2006 out of El Centro for robbery of vehicle.
National Immigration Institute officers deported the suspect to the United States, said the agency.
Homicide suspect arrested
A man who allegedly killed woman a year ago was arrested in San Luis Río Colorado, Sonora, said the Attorney General’s office.
Authorities said Noé Francisco “Doe,” 36, was arrested for the murder of Irene Berenice Delgado Murúa, who was found dead on Oct. 16, 2015.
Special Investigations coordinator in Mexicali David Lozano said that day at 11:30 p.m. the suspect allegedly arrived at Moctezuma Street in the unincorporated area of Gonzalez Ortega, also known as Palaco in eastern Mexicali.
The suspect demanded the woman to return several stolen items.
The man suddenly brandished a firearm and shot the woman in the abdominal area.
The victim was transported to Mexicali’s General Hospital, where she succumbed to the injuries.
The suspect then fled on a vehicle, authorities said.
Noé Francisco was transported to Mexicali in order to book him in Mexicali Jail and to press him charges.
