A 44-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday after allegedly stealing a vehicle from a residence, said the Municipal Public Safety Department.
Authorities said the suspect, identified as Arturo “Doe,” was arrested at 2:22 a.m.
An 83-year-old woman told police officers that while arriving at the Privada Juárez Street at Fraccionamiento Maestros Federales subdivision observed a blue 1998 Chevrolet Suburban with California plates leaving her home.
Moments later, the victim realized her gray 2013 Jeep Compass was stolen.
Police agents found and stopped on the Suburban the suspect while driving over the speed limit, authorities said.
The stolen vehicle and the suspect’s accomplice have not been found, the police said.
Authorities said damages were also reported at the victim’s residence.
The suspect was transported to the police headquarters.
Men arrested for robbery
Two individuals were arrested for their alleged involvement in a couple of robberies reported days ago, said the Municipal Public Safety Department.
Authorities said police officers arrested Gregorio de Jesús “Doe” and Génesis “Doe,” both 23, while driving a 2001 burgundy Alero vehicle that was reported stolen days ago.
Police agents found and stopped the vehicle at Fuente de las Musas Avenue and Pegaso Street at Colonia Voluntad neighborhood.
Inside the vehicle, police agents found a BB gun and a knife.
The suspects were allegedly involved in the March 2 robbery at Eco Gas Station and the Feb. 28 robbery of a Coppel store.
The suspects were transported to the police headquarters.
