    Rocky mountain fever cases decrease

The state Secretary of Health said due to residents’ work the number of Rocky Mountain Fever cases has decreased statewide.

However, authorities did not provide statistics.

The secretary asked residents to get rid of old mattresses, sofas and other furniture that is home to ticks that might transmit the sickness, especially to children.

The agency also requested to keep pets clean and refrain them from sleeping indoors, as well as fumigating homes.

The illness, also known as rickettsia, has killed over one hundred residents in the last years.
