Baja California Governor Francisco Vega releases today his Third State of the State report under peculiar circumstances.
Instead of convening mayors, lawmakers, businessmen and other politicians a representative will deliver the document at the Assembly during the morning.
In a press release, the Legislature said Secretary of Government Francisco Rueda is scheduled to deposit the report at the Assembly, whose incoming 25 members begin their terms.
As has occurred during the last two years, Gov. Vega is expected to also disburse flyers with few details of the State of the State among drivers in Mexicali streets.
State staff and officials are also expected to deliver flyers in residents’ hands on other cities and towns.
The justification behind Vega’s way to deliver his State of the State is to reduce costs of renting the Theater of the State in Mexicali’s Civic Center and invite guests from other parts of the state, the country and overseas. It is unknown how much the state has saved with the new format.
Assemblymen met Friday night in order to elect a new speaker and other officials of the presiding board.
