A man was arrested Wednesday afternoon in downtown Mexicali in possession of a revolver, said the Municipal Public Safety Department.
Authorities said police officers arrested Sergio “Doe,” 24, at 2:08 p.m. at Reforma Avenue and Azueta Street.
According to the police, officers were patrolling the area when the suspect started yelling at them.
Police agents approached the suspect who then tried to flee on foot.
The suspect had a .38-caliber Smith & Wesson revolver loaded with three cartridges inside a backpack.
The man was transported to the police headquarters, authorities said.
Homicide suspect apprehended
A man who had an active arrest warrant for homicide and robbery was arrested Wednesday afternoon in southern Mexicali, said the Municipal Public Safety Department.
Authorities said police officers arrested Ramón “Doe,” 30, at 4:30 p.m. at Pontevedra Avenue and Lombardo Toledano Boulevard at Fraccionamiento Infonavit Cucapah neighborhood.
The suspect was arrested in possession of a metal fingerless glove.
The police unveiled the suspect had an active arrest warrant for homicide since 2012 and another one for robbery since 2002.
