    Man found dead

A man whose age and city of residence was not released by press time was found dead Monday morning inside a canal, said the Municipal Public Safety Department.

Authorities said at 9:55 a.m. the corpse was located at Fraccionamiento Del Valle.

The police said a 53-year-old man told authorities about the man’s body.

The deceased man was found with denim black jeans and blue tennis shoes.

The body was almost buried and apparently was pulled towards some bushes by the side of the canal.

The body was found decapitated and without hands.

This is the second headless corpse found in a rural town in less than a week.

Around 2:50 p.m. police officers arrested Miguel Rubén “Doe,” 45, at Lombardo Toledano Avenue and Héctor Terán Boulevard due to an active arrest warrant for homicide of a relative.

At 6:30 p.m. police agents arrested Armando “Doe,” 26, at Avenue 59 and Libertadores Street at Colonia Hidalgo.

The suspect was armed with a 50-inch machete and had an arrest warrant for sexual abuse, authorities said.

    Feds visit Sea of Cortez

A federal official recently toured the Sea of Cortez in order to eventually sign a feasibility agreement to turn the region in one of the first sustainable touristic development zones in the country through a presidential designation.

State Secretary of Tourism Oscar Escobedo said the tour was made July 25 and 26 along with Sustainable Touristic Regulations director Manuel Barclay with the Mexican Secretary of Tourism.

The state official said federal authorities need to determine all required actions regarding electricity service, potable water and highway infrastructure before the designation is made.

Escobedo said the San Felipe-Puertecitos-Bahía De Los Angeles corridor has very high potential to develop the zone at a high level given its natural resources, landscapes and territorial extension, as well as for its biodiversity.

It has been known that Mexico’s richest man Carlos Slim has put his sights on the area, but land owners have been under disputes for the sale of their land.

Among the sites visited the secretary underlined El Dorado Ranch, San Felipe International Airport, Marinazul Golf & Resort Project, Rancho Costa Verde, Oasis Park Resort Development and others.

Escobedo said the projects might fall under Public-Private investment agreements.

Authorities meet Thursday to address the issue again in Huatulco, Oaxaca, Mexico.
